A doctor recently retired after a long, and successful career. His coworkers threw him a party, but my family also wanted to do something to show him how much we had appreciated him and all those years of his dedicated hard work. So we decided to throw up a surprise brunch and invite friends and neighbors that are close to him so we could all celebrate his success. I was asked to create the invitation for the brunch, which I knew would be a good opportunity to create something fun and show a mixture of who he was as a doctor. 

I wanted a few "doctor things" to represent his hard work, which is why I chose the stethoscope, and his pager (which went off all the time, especially if he was on call). But I also wanted to show his adventurous side, he loves to hike and be outdoors. Traveling is one of his passions and going for a walk outside is one of his favorite things to do. For years he had talked about getting an RV and traveling around the country. He recently bought an RV and has started taking it places. So I wanted to incorporate this in part of the design, a small part of his previous stage of life and this new stage of life that he's really excited for. 

I incorporated small details about my him into the design, including his nickname on the pager screen and a picture of him in the RV the first morning he cooked breakfast in the RV and he looked so happy.
