CANTAB MURAL
I was honored to be selected to paint a mural at the lower stage of The Cantab Lounge in Central Sq, Cambridge. This is one of the few remaining venues that has been around for ages and houses a variety of acts from bands to DJs to comedy nights. Having spent plenty of evenings there myself, it was surreal to leave my mark.

The goal was to create a lively, colorful mural that will serve as the backdrop of the stage while also including “Cantab Underground” in there - the rest was up to me. My approach was to bring the bold colors and shapes but not so much that it takes away from the acts that will be in front of it. The final touch is the bottom left corner that references an area known as Graffiti Alley that is unique to the Central Sq neighborhood and was a blast to bring to life.

Follow the journey of the mural below as you can see the original sketches, color options and the final digital sketch.
