home and universe [zine on homelessness]

homeless people’s self-built homes found in the streets or suburbs take
a lot of different forms: from a recognisable hut to an indistinguishable pile of blankets, being the only home these people own. graphics made of these photos (distorted and edited) intertwines with quotes from gaston bachelard’s 'poetics of space’ (philosophic work on dwelling places), compiling into a research of relationships of inner and outer, private and revealed, empty and overflowing. these shapes, their fragile and chaotic boundaries and their place in the surroundings is explored here.
the images and the text here are metaphorical, speaking a language of imagination and subconsciousness.
the metaphors used in the text are very basic and natural, familiar, known by all.
the graphics is simplified to black and white, so as to emphasise opposition.

thin, slightly translucent paper of the zine makes words and silhouettes from different pages overlay with each other.
here there is an attempt to define a homeless person's tent as a "normal" home.
