Focusing on something so simple in shape and function, I noticed that though the door wedge - an ubiquitous object, has been designed many times, rarely with a focus on aesthetics. Currently, most door stops are produced from plastic, rubber or metal. Once the most common material, wood, is now a rarity in this application, and for what reason?
This solid walnut door stop focuses on the inherent beauty of walnut. Each selection of wood is thought out carefully to emphasize the most detailed grain.
A rubber coating is applied to the underside of the stop for added grip, and is hidden when in use so the focus is on the natural material.
Made from locally sourced walnut.
