Tie-dye has always been an evergreen source for surface patterns, as they continue to install freshness and vibrancy. What makes tie and dye so fun is the sheer unpredictability. The feeling you get as you open the tied fabrics, is beyond words. It fills you up with excitement and all sorts of elation. अतरंगी is a classroom project which incorporates explorations of resist dye techniques (tie and dye / batik ) with natural and synthetic dyes. It also comprises of natural dye samples. अतरंगी means "not usual" or "extraordinary" and the the same is reflected in these dyeing swatches. Since no two prints can ever look alike, all of these swatches will be अतरंगी from others.
