This House Sparrow portrait was created out of a daily art practice, playing around with various colour palettes and practicing digital abstract painting.

The beautiful, earthy coloured feathers and the symbolism of the House Sparrow was the initial inspiration for this piece. After a major life transition, I spent more time observing my local sparrow communities and their symbolic qualities really became apparent to me--adaptability, persistence, happiness in simplicity, and community. 
As these qualities were reflecting in my life, this piece was born as an homage to an ending chapter and a new beginning.
