Interview of the Designer

PULL OUT YOUR PHONE AND SPOT THIS MARK, IT IS DESIGNED BY SOMEONE YOU KNOW.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT IT MEANS? DO YOU KNOW WHAT CONNECTION IT HAS TO NIFT CHENNAI?

On 4th September 2018, 5 new products were covered under Compulsory Registration Scheme (CRS) where 45 electronic products were already there. This logo is implemented by BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) to regulate the quality of the materials and ensure safety of all electronic products.

The logo is a short form for Self Declaration of Conformity (SDC). The designer came up with this idea for the logo by taking the first letters of ADD and filling and with colors of the BIS that is red and blue

This logo is not just for INDIA but for GLOBAL usage too. This mark stands along side with the marks of EUROPE, FRANCE, CHINA, USA eye. What a product is to be sold by any manufacturers whether INDIAN or Foreign, they need to get this mark printed on their products from the government to do trading in India.

The man behind this creation is a Prof. THOMAS SAMUEL from National Institute of Fashion Technology. He created such an important and international mark in a month's time, over coming the all time government logo designer's from (NID), and against competitors all across the world and won a cash prize of 1 Lac and was given an acknowledgement certificate. He said " It wasn’t cash money that have me happiness , even though it is very good I got the money but the pride and satisfaction that every one is holding and carrying me along with the where ever they are going."

Try, try until you succeed is a well known proverb. Well we can see this proverb getting proved and successfully achieved by Thomas Sir. Getting disappointed at every step in his career didn't drag him down to the river of discourage but it built a glass bridge for crossing his hardships. And finally he did gain what he wanted SUCCESS, and also many other side dishes with it for the hard work. Belief in self and hard work led Thomas sir to be recognized globally by his logo. A Government logo design was a privilege provided only to few organizations, but when recently it was open to the world, sir seized the opportunity and using it to its full and achieving his dream.
