1950s-1960s: Golden Age of Inspirations
All about Creativity and its Possibilities

Ziinlife believes in creativity.
We deem creativity as one of the most important driving forces for human civilization. And it still works now even in the post-pandemic era. Widely recognized as the golden era of design, the 1950s and 1960s have witnessed the great transition from hand-made production to mass production. We wonder how ziinlife would respond to that golden age by giving full play to its creativity.

Product design has evolved from the Bauhaus style into contemporary style. Ten decades ago, the Bauhaus came into being, being the very source of modern living. Afterwards, the international style in the 1950s and 1960s became the dominant trend of the second wave of modern design concepts. This period, also called Mid-Century Modern, or MCM, is the golden age of design.
Back then, design integrated into a more diverse and open lifestyle at an unprecedented speed. Function, practicality, plus comfort and fun were put at the first priority. Design forms were enriched due to wider commercial application. Consequently, a growing number of design masters joined hands with brands in creating a wealth of classics, which still benefit us now.

Our new series named 50’60’ is more than a homage to the MCM.
We utilize the signature material and technique of MCM, and then take a more restrained design expression. By inserting our thinking of daily life, quality and kindness into the form, we wish to discuss more possibilities of creativity. Surrounded by a new type of transformation and conflicts, we think that design should and can play a bigger role so as to do its part for a better shared future.
