This zine was the form that the middle third of my master of architectural design thesis. This document was made as a visceral and polemical response to concerning trends in the production and acquisition of housing in America, particularly Eastern Massachusetts. The zine identifies key issues through image and text and then selects six single-family homes to serve as prototypes for modifications to address the aforementioned issues. The previous phase of this project, YOURS / MINE / OURS, fleshed out these issues through a small design project. The final phase of this project, MORE THAN JUST A SHELTER, takes on the fictional position of someone who has picked up this zine and decided to elaborate on one of the schemes and strategies presented within. This work was undertaken in Kyle Barker's "Home Makeover" research and design studio during the spring of 2022.
