MOTHER NATURE

Mother Nature is a term used to describe nature seeing as it embodies the form of a mother through the aspect of nurturing.

For this project, my main source of inspiration was Kenyan artist Chelagat Cherwon's work, Sivana.
She describes Sivana as an oasis of enlightenment in a chaotic world, where we can connect with the elements of nature; earth, water, air and fire in order to find peace within ourselves.
Mother Nature brings forth day and night and provides the universe with the four elements (earth, fire, water and air) that are vital for the continuous, stable growth and sustenance of all living things.
She is the epitome of life in all it's glory.
INITIAL IDEAS AND FINAL SKETCH
In my illustration, all the four elements are represented as follows;

Earth
Earth is represented by the globe that mother nature holds and the plants that surround her.

Water
The element of water is represented by the puddle mother nature rests on, that also nourishes the plants that surround her in order to boost their growth.

Air
The element of air is represented by wind which in this case consists of the swirls and strokes that thrust mother nature's hair upwards, creating the night sky.

Fire
Fire is represented by the celestial bodies in the illustration which include; the stars and the moon in the night sky and the sun during daytime.
THANK YOU!
