Second place of AIAS Parklet Design Competition 2022

This project is a design for a parklet located at An-Najah National University street- Nablus- Palestine.
The main idea of this project is a public shaded seating area that consists of a series of seats arranged in a hierarchical way, allowing as many students to have seats at the same time. It's designed to take two car parking spaces in size, and It's protected from the sun and the street by the main structure itself.

It’s also designed with enough space in the middle so variant activities could be held within it, such as public gatherings, theatrical work for amateurs, art gallery (as this space also has a drawing stand), etc…
This project also resolves sustainability issues, since the seats are emptied from the inside, so this space could be used for exchanging books/clothes/stationery/attachments/etc... between students.

And finally, to improve the students' experience so they can feel comfortable while using this project, solar cells are distributed on the upper part of the project, so charging slots are provided for all seats, in addition to ‏solar cells which are charged in the morning to provide light at night
