Maladaptive Daydreaming is a condition in which people daydream to such an extent that they lose track of their surroundings and their reality. It is closely related to psychosis.
Eating Disorders are usually coping mechanism for illnesses such as depression and anxiety. They also tend to further spiral into body dysphoria and such other conditions.
Psychosis, like maladaptive daydreaming, is related to patient losing their connection with reality. It manifests in the form of demons coming to life outside of their heds.
This series is an attempt to explore the different psychological disorders which I have been privy to, in the lives of the people close to me. It portrays the intangible mess of thoughts against a relatively more tangible structured background, which one might call home.

Essentially, these pieces would categorize as mixed media as the characters and their headspace have been created using material such as craft paper, plastic, cloth, etc., and attached separately (can be peeled-off easily) on to their backgrounds which they are familiar to. This was an attempt to show that safety and comfort is encroached even if you are 'home', and that it is not necessary that one might feel the sense of belonging-ness over there.

Instead of using dark, subdued themes to portray these disorders, I decided to go with Alice in Wonderland's 'Mad Hatter' approach. A perspective which is dynamic and also dark and insightful enough for the viewers to understand, if not relate to, that the mind is a precariously mad Wonderland in itself.
