Sketchbook: Israel

I've always been a fan of - but never got to truly practice - proper travel sketching. Back in 2012, on my most recent trip to Israel, I decided to spend the nine days capturing my favorite place in the world through the pages of a sketchbook. For this trip, I toted along a 3" x 5" HandBook travel journal (the poor man's Moleskine) and a random array of markers, pens, and colored pencils. Having been to Israel on a few occasions, I focused this trip primarily on Israel's wonderful foods, world-class wines, and their phenominal burgening craft beer scene. The only downside was that my collection of markers and pencils were more suited to the restrained and conservatively corporate palette of my daily Washington, DC, and not the vibrant colors of Israel. Hopefully I'll have more appropriate colors for my next trip to Israel...
