In this masked life, shine the light!
I wanted to capture what I felt and my life experience in the past two years specifically during the height of the lockdown in 2020. The pandemic has forced many of us to live our lives in isolation, confronted by our own shadows. Nothing fuels anxiety than uncertainty. Jobs were lost, too many deaths, a collective in distressed brought by this "invisible enemy" that seemingly would strike anywhere and anytime. We were mandated to wear masks — a small piece of fabric which conveys a lot of meaning — protection, safety, empathy, respect, business, it can also symbolize fear, a tool to discriminate, a cause of polarity and a lot of things. Everything is neutral, one's intention and energy define it.
Freedom was lost and we were all in the dark. Chaos existed not only in the outside world, but became too internal. However, no matter how dark and limiting this "masked life" is, we have no other choice but to seek within this light that's eternal and reflective of who we really are.
Let's keep on reminding ourselves to shine our light.
No amount of darkness can make light free. Even the smallest pinprick of light could make darkness flee.
