This dataviz was submitted to the Royal Belgian Zoological Society and won 2nd place in their DataViz Challenge.
Lollipop charts (or dumbbell plots) are effective in communicating the gap between two data points. I coloured male and female in the chart header accordingly so that the legend can be removed. The chart was coded on R and the design was prepared with Figma.
