Assassination Classroom (Japanese: 暗殺教室 Hepburn: Ansatsu Kyōshitsu) is a Japanese comic science fiction manga series written and illustrated by Yūsei Matsui. The series was serialized on Shueisha's Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine from July 2012 to March 2016, and its chapters collected in 21 tankōbon volumes. An anime television adaptation by Lerche aired in Japan from January to June 2015, followed by a second season from January to June 2016. A live-action film adaptation was released in March 2016.The series has also been adapted into a number of light novels, with original stories not seen in the manga written by Makoto Fukami, author of the Psycho-Pass series. A live-action film adaptation was released in Japan on March 21, 2015.[3] An anime film sequel produced by Lerche and directed by Eiichirō Hasumi premiered in Japan on March 25, 2016.[4][5] A live-action television series adaptation premiered on Fuji TV on January 11, 2015.
