Context:

Plot what to do for HLAS's 50 Anniversary. We met up with the department to discuss what kind of swag we can hang out to their patrons. They were thinking chocolates and book bags.

DESIGN PROCESS

Moodboard:
We wanted to showcase the HLAS van, so I looked for inspiration about vans.
Thumbnails:
There wasn't much I could do at the time since we were waiting back on the samples, dimensions and quotes.

I had a couple of ideas like the iconic van driving down a road, imagination coming out of the van, someone handing materials, the iconic white box with materials and big books coming out of the van.
Drafts:
I liked handing books idea so I played around with that before working on the van.
Front: colour, new van, sun rises in the east since it's a new day (delivering to patrons)/future

Back: b&w, old van, sun sets in the west since it's end of day (going to back to library)/it's in the past

HLAS brought up a good idea during the meeting to have a coloured version on the front to signal NEW and the back black & white to say that it's the past/old. After relooking at the moodbaord, I made a black & white version of the van, so why not create the old version of the van.
FINAL DESIGN

My design wasn't chosen by the department and went with another one, but I had so much fun doing it!
