Project Brief
Design a personal magazine for whatever topic is out there. Requirements are an 8.5 x 11 magazine. Minimum three topics/sections. Table of contents. Two ads, half-page or full-page spread. Finally, all sources for images and blogs must be cited.
The first step was creating a mood board with the feel of the magazine. The topic chosen was based solely on travel, mainly international. As that would end up being my one-stop travel guide after covid is over or slowed down enough to resume travel.

Articles Used:
Thailand Magazine Bangkok (Authors: Riel & Llonka)
Thailand Magazine Islands of Thailand (Authors: Riel & Llonka)
A Guide to Japan: March and April (Author: Jennifer)

Flat plans and sketches of layouts were then drawn out to help visualize the process of designs and spreads in the magazine. The sketches help depict where the main, secondary, and third articles would go. In addition, having an already drawn-out design helped keep all the articles looking the same.
The next step was finally beginning to design the layout. Both Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator, and finally Adobe InDesign were used to create this travel magazine.
The personal magazine turned out extremely well. It is bright, fun, and has all the necessary information needed for any international travel to Thailand and or Japan. What went well was finding the blogs about these countries. The layout was also easy since it was already done. All that had to be done was copy the sketch and fix anything that looked weird. In addition, finding the images were easy, but getting them to the correct resolution and size was challenging. Finding the fonts was also quite challenging.
