This place is called þingvellir National Park and marks the crest of the Mid-Atlantic Ridge. The Icelandic parliament, which is said to be the foundation of the nation of Iceland, was founded here in 930. It is another great place in this beautiful country.
In September 2009 I spent two weeks in beautiful Iceland. Like many tourists do, I started in capital Reykjavík and followed Ring 1 (Ring Road) clockwise. I took a lot of pictures but never put them online. Over the next few weeks I will upload a few of my best Iceland pictures. I hope you will enjoy them. Go and visit this beautiful country!
