In 2012, Upstatement helped the Daily Orange launch a new website on a new platform. As former editors at the paper, we knew the pain of working in their CMS. The D.O. was using College Publisher and had long ago become frustrated with the software. As grateful alumni, we wanted to give the D.O. the website it deserved and the students a platform to practice cutting-edge journalism.
After launch, the site won several awards for its presentation and its journalism, including first place in 2012's and 2013's Editor & Publisher Eppy Awards for best college newspaper website.
