Climb 4 Check-In
This week was quite a busy week! I finalized my script for the music video, created a shot list for every scene, and made a spreadsheet/ contacted potential filming locations!
Climb 5 Check-In
This week was a little more relaxed but still important to the pre-production process! I scrubbed through the final script to determine the actors/ actresses I would need, the costumes necessary for each character per scene, and an equipment wish list where I denoted what equipment/ props I would need and where to get them.
I decided that I would cast myself as Nick to get the appropriate emotions I am looking for and will have my friend Ryan who is a professional photographer/ videographer behind the camera. Yellow denotes I have not yet held auditions/ contacted that individual.
Climb 6 Check-In
It's official. Filming for the video has begun this week! Here is some of the shots we got thanks to the help of my brother Brett!
Climb 8 Check-In
Filming continues this week as I start to record the "flashback" sequences that play during the drop portion of the music video/ song! There is still a bunch of flashback sequence shots I need to film but these shots were ones I was able to do within my apartment. Here is some shots I was able to get!
Climb 9 Check-In
The music video is about 1/3 of the way complete! I am a little behind schedule but our Midterm check-in gave me some time to start putting the filmed shots together and see how well they fit with the song. So far it is looking pretty decent. There is a lot of work ahead for both the filming and editing process but things are starting to come together! Here is a rough cut of the first half of the music video!
Climb 10 Check-In
This week I have seen both struggle and success, I had many midterms this week for my other classes so the time I got to spend working on my project was not as much as I wanted it to be. However, I got the new IPhone 13 Pro which has an amazing camera and a cinematic mode which allows me to get shots when I am not able to rent camera equipment. I was able to get the final few shots for the first half of the video I had unfinished. My major breakthrough was with a green screen scene I had in mind where I would be falling/ spiraling down a vortex of alcohol. Below you can see the initial shot and the shot after post processing!
Here is the before and after for the falling sequence for the second pre-chorus of the music video!
