Apple Airtag Leather Keychain Case

The Airtag Keychains are a product I designed while working at Waterfield Designs. They can be found here:
https://www.sfbags.com/products/airtag-leather-keychain
The objective was to create an Airtag case that was visually distinct from the Apple and Hermes offerings, while retaining the features that make Airtags special.
We got a lot of feedback from our customer base, and the main thing they wanted was a case that could protect the Airtag from scratches, as well as make the Airtag less conspicuous, since a giant Apple logo would be a dead giveaway to thieves.
It took a lot of trial and error to find a form factor that could accommodate the Airtag's unique puck shape. A variety of materials and ideas are piled up here.
These are the iterations that ultimately lead to the final product (right side). One of the challenges was finding a hole pattern that would allow the Airtag's beeping to be heard, while also being a pattern that the leather die cutter could accommodate.
The Airtag can play a variety of sounds, some of which are to help locate lost items, others to indicate a foreign airtag might be tracking your movements. The "speaker holes" allow the sounds to be heard, as well as visually indicate that the item is capable of producing sound.
Leather allows for us to do cool things like laser etch the logo, and use high quality leather hardware like the Sam Brown stud, and the grommet.
Comes in 4 colors! Maybe so you can encase all your airtags if you buy the 4 pack from Apple.
Part of the Airtag travel accessories set, which included a luggage tag that has a similar hole pattern.
