Agricultural robot - Concept Design for Future of Agriculture

Our environment is changing, not only since today, but it feels increasingly faster. This also has an impact on agriculture.
Several factors are causing this change, here are a few examples:
The global population continues to rise. People are moving into cities and by
2050, one in four people in Europe will probably be over 65.
If young people move to the cities and rural work becomes unattractive, who will till the fields?

FIVE MEGATRENDS and their influence on agriculture
Comparison between tractors today and future agricultural robots
Agricultural robot
small footprint
small footprint with tools under the robot
small floor load
drives autonomously and 24h
remote control
use on small fields
uses renewable energy

TRACTOR
large footprint
even larger footprint with tools
high soil compaction due to large mass
use on large fields
needs a driver
energy due to fossil fuels

Due to the ecological change, new solutions for agriculture are required.
A concept design visualizes our ideas of a solution approach.
AGRICULTURAL LAND
agriculture with tractors and large agricultural machinery
very large fields
straightened fields for easy field cultivation
space needed for large machines
few trees and shrubs on the edges
erosion by wind and precipitation
Agriculture with robots
small fields can be worked efficiently
field contours are not straight
robots are smaller and more maneuverable
many trees and bushes at the edge and between the fields
Reduction of erosion by wind and precipitation
Green strips for more biodiversity
MART ROBOT – Sensor Technology
TRUCK AND TRAILER
Agrar Robot and the tool
The tool can be a special tool like seeding or weeding tool
The idea process involved collecting different variants of the robot's structure and functions and putting them together in a package.  Analog and digital sketches help us to visualize and communicate our ideas.
