Hawaiian Shirt - Intro to Digital Media

Hawaiian Shirt - Introduction to digital media
INTRODUCTON:
This project is about creating a Hawaiian shirt with a unique pattern. I will be documenting the whole process: creating pattern, applying it on a drawn shirt, making buttons and a tag.
MATERIALS:
Adobe Illustrator (2021) for the project and process itself, and images as references from Pinterest.
CREATIVE PROCESS:
For this project, I was inspired by reversible octopus plushie. They are plushie toys, which change moods, and they are petty popular nowadays. I knew I would have fun and enjoy doing this project. From the beginning my goal was to create a shirt with a simple but cute print on it.
WORKFLOW:
1. Create a 11x17 page
2. Open provided JPG of a shirt
3. Make it as a template
I placed the picture of the shirt in the middle of a created page and then through double click on the shirt layer I chose a 'template'
4. With Pen Tool create an outline
5. Make layers from colored panels and delete the template
6. Drawing a picture for a pattern using Pen Tool
7. Develop the pattern and rotate it a little
8. Apply the completed pattern on the shirt
9. Create shadows
10. Add buttons and a tag
FINAL RESULT:
CONCLUSION:
Some parts of this assignment were easy to do, because I have already learned hot to do them before. The only complicated part was the idea, it took me a long time to decide what pattern to come up with. I remember the previous ‘shirt’ assignment – it took me too one, and my first thought about this one was that it will take a lot of time to finish it up. However, I have already had some skills, and it was much easier.
