It required skills of: Importing images as drawing references; Drawing with the Pen Tool; Creating Patterns using the PATTERN MAKE function and applying them to objects; Creating variable width strokes to imply 3D shadow and highlights; Using the WIDTH Tool; Layering of Objects; Adjusting Layer and Object Opacity and Blend Mode; Creating Clipping Masks to hide unwanted graphic material; Gradient Panel for creating 3D hi-lite and shadows on objects; Text Tool; Special Effects (fx) for Blurring and Drop Shadow creation; Blend Modes and Opacity settings.

MATERIALS:
Adobe Illustrator was mainly used to create all assets in this project, such as creating a pattern, designed button and tag. Also, inspirational images and the utilized texture image sample were all gathered by internet searches.

CREATIVE PROCESS:
To be honest, it was sudden inspiration of the concept/idea that came up from Professor Jim Kinney's singing during his lecture. Around beginning class, somehow he was happily singing the opening theme song of Sponge Bob Square Pants. And in my head, there was little brain storming, that lead to the Jellyfish. A quick Google Image search for image of cartoonish jellyfish gave me confidence that it would be look wonderful to design pattern for Hawaiian shirt.

Conclusion:
After finished this assignment, I knew how to create the texture, pattern and compound it together. Overall, this was a great assignment to practice skills in Illustrator by using Pen tool, Clipping mask, Blend mode, Opacity and setting tool. Most of all, I enjoyed it.
