Hawaiian Shirt Project

Hawaiian Shirt Project
Introduction
The task for this project was using the teachings from our teacher, Jim Kinney, to create a digital Hawaiian Shirt on Adobe Illustrator. To be specific, the teachings of using patterns, accurate line art, and shading. Not only to apply these techniques on the shirt itself, but the other smaller details like the buttons and company logo on inside of the shirt.
Materials
I used Adobe Illustrator on my Windows Laptop
Creative Process
It took me awhile to figure out what I wanted to do for this, but I decided to go for a star motif. I always loved stars, cause they can symbolize a burning light of hope or anything positive, really. But I did not really go for yellow, as I personally don't like yellow as much as green.
Considering how my computer reacted to the, quite honestly, tedious load times of Illustrator it took me quite awhile to finish this assignment. Sometimes when I made a line or resized the buttons to place them on the shirt, it would crash. Which forced me to take breaks, when I could have been finished certain aspects of the project earlier.

Despite that, I kept a calm mind, somehow, and completed the project.
Final Product
Conclusion
My take-aways from this is that, Illustrator is personally not a product for me. Being objective, I think it is a worthwhile program to use, however for me personally, not my cup of tea. More power to the pros who use it. The only challenges in this were dealing with the odd amount of crashing throughout the process and it was quite impressive on the days that it would not crash on me.
Even with my gripes, it was a fun learning experience and I would do it again, if I was given more time.
