Virtual Reality : Sea Slugs and Fluid Flow

Course 137 : Virtual Reality Design for Science

The Cave Painting Project #01  :  Natural Force and Form

Goals
1. Introduction to design issues of describing natural forces and forms.
2. Start being creative within the design space of the Cave.

Subject : Sea slugs and fluid flow
Week 01
Study natural forms in Sea slugs and air&fluid flow

Model to show how my drawing is going to fit in the Cave Painting

Week 02
Study similarity in movements of sea slugs and waves.
Make a hyphothesis : Sea slugs' swiming movements have some critical relationship with ocean waves in terms of their patterns and mechanism.

Consider another interesting subject : Elysia Chlorotica
(Check out this cool animal. It does photosynthesis! it can produce chlorophy2 by itself eating algae.)

Week 03
Work in the Cave painting visualizing sea slugs' swiming and fluid flow

Use 2 different types of controllers and ware 3D glasses to work on it!
This is how it looks without glasses on the cave painting room walls below.

How it looks with the 3D glasses!
You can walk around, go through the slugs or make them bigger/smaller and change direction/colors, etc.
These are only 2D screenshots.
But you can really feel the depth if you ware 3D glasses! It's sad I can't bring them into mac or PC.
