Knights of Lazarus: Artifacts

These four illustrations were created for Spicy Tuna RPG for their Mothership module Knights of Lazarus (Kickstarted Feb 1, 2022). The illustrations were created from a descriptiove brief, with specific key colours in mind. This was a very rewarding project and working with this client was a great pleasure.

Below artifact descriptions are from Spicy Tuna RPG:

1. St. Anselm's Tome.

"The tome's cover is coated in precious palladium. The outside coating is regal in gothic detail, but the inside coating is much sloppier - several pages adhering to the front and back cover. It's frigid to hold.

Opening the tome reveals hollowed pages. Two clear pills are held firmly by silver latches.

With precision, players can gently separate the adhered pages from the covers. An encrypted language appears like a grocery list.

Deciphering the code will describe several nootropic and psilocybin ingredients from various solar systems and the bottom text is a scribbled list of races that should not ingest the pills. The list ends with an ellipsis..."

2. Our Lady's Jeweled Crown.

"Close inspection will reveal a slim line on the inside of the crown. A small tool can be used to carefully pry open the bronze plate. The circuitry and magnets placed inside are as beautifully displayed as the crown’s exterior.

The magnetic tech is utilized for high-efficiency mobile MRI, TMS, and iTBS treatments. Sensors inside are able to adjust the strength of applied treatment based on brain composition. Even with the adjustment, the machine applies heavy treatments which create extreme results and may cause worsened side effects."
