Drawing mechanical details (mostly articulations) wich can be incorporated in blocky robot designs to make them more complex without changing the overrall apparence. Also some texture practice.
Is easier for me to sketch with pen on paper, more so for shapes like this ones, so when I draw something I like, I take a picture or scan and then digitally draw on top of it.
