UX Sketching & Ideation

A UX designer's most powerful tool is often a pencil. Dry erase markers are a close second. I often combine these tools with digital tools and photography to create multi-fidelity sketches. I add icons in Illustrator and color it in Photoshop. I sometimes print out the resulting images for use in paper prototyping.

Long before a design appears on a screen, we create these sketches, comps and prototypes. Each project and audience are different. What matters is capturing and communicating quality ideas.

In the early phases, the fine visual details don't matter as much as the experience and interaction. I've gathered a batch of multi-fidelity sketches I created while I was creative director at ARO. Enjoy!
