aranea

Aranea, a name that from Latin means 'spider', is a parklet designed for Viale Matteotti, more precisely in the area of the Giardini della Gherardesca, in Florence. This urban web was designed specifically to ensure relaxation and comfort for those who use it, while maintaining continuity with the external environment thanks to the climbing plants that cover the entire structure. With geometric and simple shapes, Aranea is a place suitable for everyone, both adults and children. The empty seats inside, as well as the three side walls, become interactive spaces that recall the geometric lines and colors of the Carlton bookcase, the subject of a study prior to the creation of this parklet. The main material is wood recovered from previous construction works.
