Design Table Extension

Design Table Extension
The Table Extension is a purpose-built item meant to alleviate space constraints while in a classroom setting. It was designed in Fusion360, and machined using a CNC Router and CNC controlled Plasma Cutter.
Why Was It Needed?
Through my time in the classroom, I began to notice a severe lack of space available to each student while seated at their desk. To help address this, I designed a table extension that could serve as a place to store our project boxes, as well as a space to use your laptop and mouse without sacrificing more work space.
What Skills Were Used?
Each part was designed in Fusion360, and was iterated multiple times to achieve a satisfying fit and finish. The individual parts were isolated and given toolpaths so i could manufacture each item. The white parts shown above are made of 16 Gauge Mild steel, plasma cut, bent using a manual metalbreak, and given multiple coats of white enamel paint. The Blue sections are MDF, machined on a CNC Router, sanded to 220 grit, and sealed and painted with Berry College Blue paint.
