"Para po!" (The Daily Commute)

A preview to my final work
I have always had fond memories of the daily commute and wanted to create a short animation of hailing a jeep. Going to school and going home, it was sometimes a struggle to get a ride in the jeepneys due to various reasons like not being seen by the driver, too many passengers or because they simply weren't going to where you're going. So, here's a GIF animation of hailing a jeep but getting rejected.
I set out to create a rough draft of the animation to see if it would work out well. The plan was the jeep would pass by her as she would go through three stages:

         1) trying hard to be seen by the driver to get a ride
         2) going through shock that despite the effort, she was rejected the ride
         3) getting disappointed that she could not get a ride

I created a base frame of a drawing of the girl and the jeep. I then proceeded to create several frames where the girl would slightly move or the jeep would drive further away, while keeping the previous frame in a lowered opacity for reference. Finally, I compiled each frame for the GIF animation.
However, upon reviewing the previous GIF, I noticed my mistakes such as the shadow not looking like a shadow, the girl did not properly show the second emotional stage (the stages I previously mentioned), and the wheels were not turning as if they were rocks. So I set out to create new frames with those mistakes in mind.
Here is the final GIF animation full of improvements and cleaner colorings and lines. I am really proud of this considering it was my first time to try animating anything. I am also proud that I was able to illustrate a fond memory of mine.
