This was a mockup submission for a Strandberg guitar. During this time I recently watched My Octopus Teacher. I feel that the octopus is an incredible creature, one that is extremely intelligent and is able to pragmatically adapt to its environment, which is why I wanted to make a tribute to the octopus.

My plan for this design is to use Black 3.0 for the body of the guitar, a type of paint that absorbs 99% of visible light, making it not just look extremely black, but give it a 2-D appearance. To say that this will make the guitar look matte is an extreme understatement! It will provide the backdrop for the original octopus design I made. I knew that, for my composition, I wanted to compose something that utilized the remarkable shape-aesthetic of the Boden, rather than just creating any random rectangular image and then plopping it on the body. The octopus fulfilled my requirement, stretching its tentacles around the guitar, even seemingly adjusting the volume and tone knobs. I will fill the octopus's design with rose gold glitter paint, making her explode to the foreground, juxtaposed against the more-than-inky blackness the Black 3.0 provides!
