PHOTO SERIES // NAVY BASE REMAINS
This series is inspired off the Navy Base that used to be located at Keflavík Airport area. It was called Naval Air Station Keflavik. When Iceland entered NATO in 1951, agreement was made with United States for a base in Keflavik, Iceland. When the cold war ended they started to leave one by one... The community, citizens & US companys left the area in 2006. You can still see a lot of remains after the Navy in Reykjanes. The Navy had so much influence on the small area in Iceland & I got inspired to document some of the goods/leftovers all over Reykjanes - pieces of history.
