This steelbook for Pikmin 3 on the Nintendo Switch was a new idea that I really wanted to try. Pikmin is a very natural and lush strategy and puzzle game, so with this design I created a design that shows off the lush atmosphere of the game.
I started out looking for images of the game that would work perfectly for the logo of the game, this logo shows off the Pikmin creatures that help you on your journey throughout the game as well as the name of the game itself.
From here I got as many stickers of leaves and foliage as I could, got the logo made into a sticker as well, and covered the front and back of the steelbook with the leaf stickers trying to create a leaf pile texture and design. I then placed the Pikmin logo sticker in the center on the front of the steelbook and covered the front and back of the steelbook with clear spray enamel to hold the stickers in place.
For the inside I found some beautiful concept artwork from the game showing the main character of the game, the Pikmin, and one of the main enemies. I then decided to cut it and fit it inside the panels to complete the design.
