Way-Finding : City Meadows

The UK is entering its 6th bio-diversity mass extinction while experts plan that 68% of the world population will be living in cities by 2050. These challenges are forcing cities and urban areas to adapt and evolve. But how to accommodate nature and urbanism ?

City Meadows is an inclusive and modern community garden designed specifically for the people of Leicester. The project uses vacant urban areas as gardens where city dwellers and bio-diversity complete one another. These spaces are used to preserve bio diversity and as a space to learn about the intricate systems of wildlife. A series of murals and way-finding solutions were created to attract city dwellers to the gardens.
