RED LEATHER-INTERNATIONAL STUDENT DESIGN COMPETITION 21

RED LEATHER

My application portfolio to INTERNATIONAL STUDENT DESIGN COMPETITION 2021.
Red Leather in an overall made in Clo3D, which represents my different perspective and take on sustainability in fashion (see video). First of all, it is made of 65% leather, 30% denim and 5% metal, being entirely made of biodegradable fabrics/ materials. This way the garments is 100% sustainable, durable, resilient in time and has an extended life, fighting against fast fashion.

Second, this garment is multi-functional. It has a cape that is detachable, there are 2 sets of pockets that are also detachable, and the holes and the zippers incorporated into the sleeves gives the wearer multiple stylistic choices. Only by these, the outfit has at least 10 possible combinations within itself and its elements/ accessories. Third, it is versatile because of the multiple options that the multi-functional aspect provides to it. These two concepts go hand in hand, and are my way of creating sustainable designs and garments

This garment was inspired by leather, corsets and capes, and they were combined with the real need for comfort regarding women`s clothing. Additionally, I chose red as a color palette because it is a powerful, loud color, and this is a powerful and loud personal statement regarding sustainability in fashion

- it can be seen the multifunctional aspect of the garment: detachable pockets, detachable lower part of the trousers, detachable cape, the unzipped sleeves. Additionally it can be seen easily the combinations that these elements bring to the outfit and also the usage of fabric and tailoring/ hardwear details, and the pattern construction -
