"Moonlight" Film Poster Redesign
The main inspiration for the poster was the neon glow effect from the original poster and the film color palette. My final concept was to create minimalistic character illustrations in the form of neon signages - the triple outlined faces, representative of each chapter in the protagonist's life.
Fonts: FreightSans Pro and FreightBig, by Joshua Darden.
To be consistent with the concept that “Moonlight” was the first movie with an entirely African American cast to win an Oscar for the Best Picture, the poster features a typography created by the first African American credited as a type designer.
Thank you!
