Odyssey is a poem about the Greek hero Odysseus. Written by  Homer this poem is about Odysseus’ voyage home.

Odysseus fought in the Trojan war for 10  years. During this time he angers some of the gods. As revenge , the gods attempt to stop Odysseus from returning home. It takes him another 10 years to get home. Along the way he encounters many enemies and many adventures.

 

This is the story for Odyssey craft beer. Homers world of intrigue and excitement is the back drop for this beer.

 

I decided on this poem for the concept of my beer because it is about  being a hero and achieving greatness in all things. Never letting anything hold you back. This goes hand in hand with my target market. The target market for this beer is the young and highly ambitious. The age range is from 23 to 30, higher education and predominately male. This poem plays on the ego aspect, being a warrior. Achieving greatness.

 

The range of beer fits into what the poem is about. For example stout  is described as being strong. In the early days of stout it was interchangeable with the word courage. I t has been linked to a part of the poem dealing strongly with both
