Giving the titles A Year From Monday, Empty Words, and Roaring Silence (all of which are collections of lectures and writings by John Cage), I designed these book jackets to resonate with John Cage's musical compositions while portraying a sense of progression which culminates in the diagonally cut slip case. Though initially presented with deep, cool colors, viewers are surprised with the flood of bright saturated red on the insides—a kind of unexpected randomness that alludes to John Cage's work.
