Vinyl Packaging Design
I created a unique vinyl album design for Kim Namjoon’s (김남준/RM from BTS) playlist called “Mono”. Mono exists only digitally and I wanted to give it a physical form. My album design consists of a vinyl record and a few "extras" such as posters, photo cards, enamel pins, stickers and keychains.
What I like about the album is the socio-psychological aspect as the themes also deal with feelings of sadness, loneliness, melancholy, depression, anxiety... Many listeners (myself included) express how this album soothes their souls and helps them deal with the circumstances they are going through. A perfect album for the pandemic.
Just like RM leaves his lyrics open for fans' interpretation, I leave them to create their own meaningful connections, symbols and narratives through the visuals used in the design.
