This is a project done in class. The project was that we need to compose a statement, a visual, and a title based on our chosen topic. I choose Toxic Masculinity because it's something that I have been suffering since growing up. People expecting me to suppress my emotions. I'll be going over what each panel means.
Title: Detrimental- tending to cause harm. A word used uncommonly. Used in the right context, I want to send a message that us men are hurting on the inside when it comes to mental health amonst us.
Illustration/Visual: I want my feelings to be shown in this visual. I pulled a recent photo of me crying and me making my stone face. I was also influenced by Pink Floyd: The Wall where the main character is shown with no hair on the face, especially the eyebrows. I think the eliminating the eyebrows will up the expression more because it's harder to physically know what emotion is the the person showing.
