Seven Creative Strategies

Seven Creative Strategies
In this project, titled the Seven Creative Strategies, I was asked to choose an everyday, household object and represent it with each of the seven strategies. Those seven strategies being combination, juxtaposition, isolation, change of environment, material change, physical similarity, and metaphor.

For my object, I chose to use a light bulb, a common every day object but once seen through the lenses of the seven creative strategies, it becomes visually appealing. Enjoy!

Category: Combination
Title: "Just a Light Scoop"
The ice cream in this cone is replaced by a bright light bulb, making it "just a light scoop".
Category: Juxtaposition
Title: "Good As New"
The broken, antique light bulb is put next to the brand new bulb to emphasize their differences.
Category: Isolation
Title: "Standing Out in a Crowd"

The bright bulb is placed in a crowd of dead bulbs to create a focal point.
Category: Metaphor
Title: "Light the World"
The Earth that's stuffed inside a lightbulb gives the phrase, "light the world", a literal meaning.
Category: Change of Environment
Title: "A Glimpse of Hope"

The light bulb is placed somewhere it would never be in found in the real world, right in the middle of the ocean.
Category: Physical Shape Similarity
Title: "The Perfect Pear"
A light bulb and a pear, who would've thought that would make the perfect pair?
Category: Material Swap
Title: "Looking Sharp"

The glass of the light bulb was swapped out with a cactus, making a prickly creation
