Mardi Gras Gala Invitation

For the fictitious Mardi Gras Gala hosted by the Chickasha Publics School Foundation, I designed the save-the-date card, gala invitation, and the name with a logo for both.

This gala is a formal event with a touch of Mardi Gras flair created to raise money for local education.

My goal was to show elegance and fun to entice people to arrive and support the foundation. I did this by using the Mardi Gras colors of purple, green, and gold, creating a name that represents royalty, wealth, and success, and designing the logo illustrations, typography, and layout.
Save the Date Card
The gala invitation has a trifold layout with the cover "cordially inviting you to" flip the bottom up and open the inside information.

The typography styles allow for flow, readability, and the important information (dates and times) to stand out.

Lastly, the bottom RSVP fold is designed to make it easy for the invitee to send back in, by being able to fill out and cut away.

The below are the initial ideas I used to build the logo from. And from these, I found that having a serif typeface for "Kings & Queens" and a sans serif typeface for "Beads" went well together to represent elegance and fun.
