Achluophobia is the fear of the dark. Growing up and even now, I can be fearful of darkness. For many, including myself it’s the fear of the unknown. I wanted to capture these feelings in a series of images focused on the inner battle of reality and irrational concern.
For many shots in the series, I took photos with long exposure times. I experimented with lighting solutions as this was peak Covid quarantine and only had what was available at home. I explored my home for possible compositions and found imagery I felt people could understand.
