The accused has equal rights to plead their case in the court. These rights provide the accused with the resources and time to present their evidence and witness to the authority and the court
The 5th, 6th and the 8th amendment adhere to the rights of an accused. It provides an equal opportunity to the accused to state their side of the case during the trial. The Bill of Rights adds an emphasis to equal rights for an accused in these amendments.
