The idea was to explore lettering and design along with the literal meaning of the names.
Like the name Jyotsna means Moonlight or Moonlight falling on Earth.
Anurag, with the meaning being devotion, passion and eternal love.
Shanta, meaning peace.
Notice the hand written postcard on the top right. ;)

Pratibha can mean splendor, genius, ingenuity and intelligence.
Thereby, trying in a Mandala here.
Drawing and cutting this piece was a wonderful experience.
Shirin. Gothic alphabets with ornamental motifs on 21 cards for a friend's 21st birthday.

The next set of works are more exploratory rather than depicting their literal meaning.
With a huge number of members in my extended family, it allowed me to try out various styles. Be it the design or the lettering. It was a long but satisfying process, from drawing those outlines to carving each piece of paper. The end results are out here for you to see. :)
Despite the digital age we're living in, I feel that there's nothing like the charm of a piece of handmade artwork. Let me know what you think! ;)
