"Steel Plates"
"Steel Plates Project" as part of Tehran Contemporary Music Festival, is based on a concept by the 14th century Iranian musician Abd al-Qadir Maraghi. The project was designed by musician and music researcher Seifollah Shokri, who has remade several ancient music instruments. This instrument was first played publicly by "Music For Everyone Group" during opening day of 3rd Tehran International Contemporary Music Festival. In this short video I documented some final stages of its remaking, and what you hear is the very first sounds of it being played as it was being assembled.
Masal Mountains
For some foreigners who haven't visited Iran, this country is like a vast desert. At least that's how Hollywood presents it. But it's not true. There are green dense jungles in various parts of it, particularly in northern parts of Alborz mountains.
Kaleybar
We traveled to northern west of Iran where it is the border with Azerbaijan. There is a strange jungle that even though there was snow on the ground, the weather was so warm. On our way we observed mountains with colorful soil.
