THE LETTERMARK - IT IS ALL ABOUT THE "A"

Axolotl (Ambystoma mexanicum) is a native Mexican salamander that was originally found in several lakes such as Xochimilco underlying Mexico city. This salamander has the rare trait of retaining its larval features throughout its adult life. This condition, called neoteny, means it keeps its tadpole-like dorsal fin and its external gills, which protrude from the back of its wide head. (Reference: National Geographic | Wikipedia)

In this project, I was assigned to build a sculpture of lettermark that inspired by Axolotl and its life. To build this sculpture, i used several materials such as styrofoam, epoxy resin (for gluing and final coating), watercolour, white poster paint, and air dry clay. The dimension of this work was 40cm x 40cm x 15cm (height x length x width).
